Emergency Contraception: A Practitioner’s Guide

UPDATED April 2014

To offer recommendations for practitioners about emergency contraception methods and to address new questions, such as the issue of Plan B efficacy and body mass index (BMI), Physicians for Reproductive Health has fully revised our publication “Emergency Contraception: A Practitioner’s Guide.” Included in the guide is information about BMI recommendations,  as well as a comprehensive review of all emergency contraception options and an emergency contraception decision tree. With this guide, we aim to provide physicians and other medical practitioners with the necessary tools to offer emergency contraception to patients who need it.
