Story No. 12: Vanessa from Washington, DC

As new parents, we found the additional expenses needed to support a growing family to be quite great. Therefore, it was especially wonderful for me to be able to obtain my birth control in an easily accessible way with no additional co-pays so that we can diligently plan if or when we want to have another child. Historically, health care costs were always disproportionately greater for women even though birth control helps both women and men plan their family sizes. It was wonderful and way overdue for the Affordable Care Act to address these disparities in cost and make tiny adjustments to make basic health care more affordable and therefore, more accessible to families all over our country.
