Story No. 26: Provider from Minnesota

As a primary care provider, I am often the first provider patients see when newly pregnant, intentionally or otherwise. Because of the generally good health coverage that exists in my state currently, I am able to refer to Obstetrics care or abortion services in the community, confident that my patient’s wishes can be fulfilled. I am worried that with proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act and Planned Parenthood funding, this will no longer be the case, that my company won’t have the courage to fill in the gaps, and that our patients will essentially be abandoned.
