Story No. 353: Patient from Colorado

In my early twenties, I left my teaching job to go to graduate school. My husband is self-employed, so without my employer-sponsored health insurance, we had to purchase private health insurance. The insurance we could afford provided very little in terms of coverage, and my birth control pills were not covered. I was so thankful to have a Planned Parenthood to go to. I received my annual wellness visits there and affordable birth control. As a newly married young woman in graduate school, I do not know what I would have done without Planned Parenthood.
