I live in a state where public insurance and many private insurance companies do not cover abortion. North Carolina is also a state that declined federally subsidized Medicaid expansion. So while the Affordable Care Act has expanded services for some of my patients, there are still many women who face financial barriers for comprehensive reproductive health care. Access should not be dependent on where you live and who you work for.
