 In response to a report that the Office of Refugee Resettlement considered “abortion reversal” for Jane Doe, the 17-year-old who sought an abortion while in immigration detention, Fellow Dr. Jamila Perritt explained that the proposed “procedure” is not based in medical evidence and is unethical.

Board Chair Dr. Willie Parker said in a statement that the President’s proposed budget threatens the well-being of marginalized communities and that attempts to defund Planned Parenthood, repeal the Affordable Care Act, and add work requirements for Medicaid are dangerous and shameful.

Salon: War on abortion’s new phase: Mississippi moves toward 15-week ban

Fellow Dr. Aisha Wagner addressed the Mississippi legislature’s attempt to advance a 15-week abortion ban, noting that many women are not even aware they are pregnant at this stage and that evidence supports the procedure’s safety.

Meet Our Advocates: Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi

For our ongoing Meet Our Advocates series, we interviewed Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi, an obstetrician/gynecologist from Texas currently living in Hawaii. She spoke about her early work in abortion care at Whole Woman’s Health in Austin, being a hotline volunteer at the Lilith Fund, and her first-hand experience with patients hurt by the Hyde Amendment.
