Born in New York and grew up in Florida

What’s your specialty or area of expertise?
Family medicine

What first inspired you to become a doctor?
Growing up I was always energized by biology classes. In medicine, I enjoy applying my medical knowledge and developing long-term interpersonal relationships with patients. It is an honor to help them become their healthiest selves.

What current policy issue especially motivates you to be an advocate?
As a family physician, I believe that comprehensive, evidence-based sexual education in schools can empower our youth to become healthier, confident adults.

How do you practice self-care?
Regular exercise, especially playing soccer, keeps me physically energized and mentally calm. I also make time to keep in touch with long-distance friends.

Who is your social justice hero?
Audre Lorde is one of my heroes for her dedication to empowering women of color and highlighting injustices through the lens of intersectionality. Her poetry is powerful!
