Meet Our Advocates: Dr. Yasaman Ahmadieh (she/her)

Where do you call home?
It is complicated. I was born and raised in Iran. I moved to San Jose, CA when I was 17 years old. I call both Iran and the Bay Area home.

What are your clinical or research interests?
My current research is on affect of acculturation on attitude toward gender and sexual diversity. I am interested in reproductive justice and social determinants of health in adolescent and LGBTQI+ populations.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
Anti- abortion and anti-trans policies and laws.

What is bringing you joy these days?
Spending time with my dog, connecting with friends in Denver and becoming more involved in advocacy for revolution started by Iranian women.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Yasaman Ahmadieh, DO, MPH is a current Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2023. Dr. Ahmadieh practices adolescent medicine in Colorado.
