Sha’llah Brewton (MD) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2027 and specializes in Family Medicine. Reflections on work, advocacy, and sources of joy are shared below.

What are your clinical or research interests?

Sexual and reproductive healthcare.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?

Abortion access, black maternal mortality crisis, insurance/healthcare affordability and access, the menopause care gap, the cuts to funding and other scare tactics the current administration has placed on medical schools and medical education governing bodies to entice them to cut their DEI and affirmative action-type policies.

What is bringing you joy these days?

Family.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Learn more about the Leadership Training Academy.
