Ashlyn Brown
Ashlyn Brown (MD) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2026 and specializes in Family Medicine. She shared the following reflections on her work, advocacy, and what brings her joy.
What are your clinical or research interests?
My clinical interests include abortion care, comprehensive pregnancy care, ultrasound, gender affirming care, and medications for substance use disorders. My research interests include pregnancy and abortion criminalization and self-managed abortion, as well as resident education on these topics.
What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
Policies that regulate family medicine physician’s scope of practice, pregnancy criminalization, and gestational limits are all policy issues that motivate me to do this work.
What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?
Care for All Clinic in Milwaukee, WI — the newest non-profit indie abortion clinic in the state!
What is bringing you joy these days?
I love snuggling with my two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Fig Newton and Sprout while reading a book. Also puzzling, listening to the podcast “Normal Gossip”, and crocheting.
