Carolina Burgos
Carolina Burgos (MD) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2026 and specializes in Family Medicine. She shared the following reflections on her work, advocacy, and what brings her joy.
What are your clinical or research interests?
My clinical interests include full-spectrum family medicine with a focus on reproductive health, prenatal and maternity care, and menopause. I’m also interested in procedural training that expands access to care, like IUDs, EMBs, and colposcopies.
What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
The current wave of abortion bans and restrictions motivates me to be an advocate. I see firsthand how they harm patients and families, and I want to use my voice as a family physician to push for policies that put patient health and autonomy first.
What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?
New Jersey Abortion Access Fund (NJAAF): A volunteer-run nonprofit that advances abortion access by providing financial assistance to people seeking abortions in and around New Jersey—helping those who face logistical and financial barriers.
What is bringing you joy these days?
Spending time with loved ones, cooking, and having new experiences in Seattle are bringing me a lot of joy right now.
Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Learn more about the Leadership Training Academy.
