Maria Isabel Gonzaga

Maria Isabel Gonzaga (MD) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2027 and specializes in Complex Family Planning. Reflections on work, advocacy, and sources of joy are shared below.

What are your clinical or research interests?

My research interests are centered around abortion physiology and provision of safe abortion care. I am also interested in early pregnancy assessment, reproductive care access, and understanding the impact of abortion restrictions.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?

Abortion restrictions and criminalization.

What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?

Access Reproductive Justice
