Megha Patel (BS, MD) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2027 and specializes in OB/GYN and Complex Family Planning. Reflections on work, advocacy, and sources of joy are shared below.

What are your clinical or research interests?

I am interested in patient centered abortion and contraception care, adolescent care, trauma informed care, and health equity. I am also passionate about expanding access to comprehensive reproductive care in restrictive settings at both the state and institutional levels.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?

Current national and state abortion restrictions that add to decreased access to care and thereby leading to increased maternal morbidity and mortality.

What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?

The Hydra Fund, Fountain Street Church

What is bringing you joy these days?

Spending time with my community, concerts and watching theater, reading, donuts, and lots of caffeine.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Learn more about the Leadership Training Academy.
