Tania Caballero (MD, MHS) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2027 and specializes in Pediatrics. Reflections on work, advocacy, and sources of joy are shared below.

What are your clinical or research interests?

My mission in clinical care is providing high quality, just, and dignified pediatric care for children in Latine immigrant families. My research centers creating innovative ways of addressing information and communication gaps among Latine communities. One project is exploring innovation, human-centered design to improve understanding of medication administration through pictograms, my other main project is improving contraceptive access for immigrant parents through screening and referring for unmet contraceptive need in the pediatric office.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?

Inhumane and abusive treatment of immigrant children and families and direct and indirect manipulation of reproductive and contraceptive access for immigrant birthing people.

What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?

Latino Racial Justice Circle

What is bringing you joy these days?

Playing and listening to music, cooking, traveling, being with friends, playing with my kids.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Learn more about the Leadership Training Academy.
