U.S. Senators Mazie K. Hirono and Gary Peters, alongside U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley, have reintroduced a resolution to honor abortion providers by designating March 10, 2025, as “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.” The resolution aims to recognize the vital role these providers play in offering reproductive care amidst various challenges including political interference and threats to personal safety.
Senator Hirono stated, “As we commemorate Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, we honor the bravery of these health professionals who provide crucial care to thousands of people across the country every day.” Senator Peters added that since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, medical professionals have faced increased threats but continue their work.
