Texas Enacts SB 8 Abortion Ban

Texas enacts SB 8, also known as the Texas Heartbeat Act, banning abortions after six weeks, or when an embryo’s heartbeat can be detected, with no exceptions for rape or incest. The act includes the right for any private citizen to sue any person who “aids or abets” an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected.
