2024 PRH Abortion Provider Award Winners

Each year, PRH honors extraordinary abortion providers and physician advocates who have made an impact in their communities and on healthcare regionally or nationally through the compassionate care they provide and their leadership in advocating for sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice.

Honorees are recognized for their commitment to their communities needs, especially those most impacted by barriers to care, and for advancing equity, inclusion, and justice in health care. These Awards are bestowed in memory of our late Board Members, Dr. William K. Rashbaum and Dr. George Tiller. Learn more about our 2024 award winners below.

2024 Tiller Advocacy Award

Dr. April Lockley

PRH is honored to present Dr. April Lockley with the 2024 Tiller Advocacy Award for her trailblazing advocacy work and for championing health equity, patient autonomy, and reproductive justice in New York and nationally.

Dr. Lockley is the medical director of the Miscarriage and Abortion Hotline, which is an anonymous hotline available to anyone in the U.S. that supports people experiencing a miscarriage or abortion at home. She also works as a physician and abortion provider at Public Health Solutions’ Centers and Planned Parenthood throughout the New York region. In addition, she’s a founding member of a collective of family medicine physicians of color who provide abortion care called CENTRS Health whose aim it is to liberate abortion training and care from white supremacy.
