Physicians for Reproductive Health has filed an amicus brief in response to several of recent lawsuits challenging the federal contraceptive coverage benefit. The cases are all brought by a for-profit companies who wants to deny employees this important benefit.
The brief’s focus is on ensuring the accuracy of the scientific record on a single issue: namely, that the emergency contraceptives approved by the FDA and the Copper Intrauterine Device, also effective for emergency contraception, are not “abortifacients.”
This brief is in response to a lawsuit filed by Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.
