In celebration of The Women’s March on Washington and the 44th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Jodi Magee, President & CEO of Physicians for Reproductive Health, issued the following statement:
“I am heartened that women are marching the same weekend that the Supreme Court gave physicians the freedom to provide the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare their patients needed then and still need today. Though we have celebrated the anniversary of the Supreme Court legalizing abortion in the United States for forty-four years, this year feels starkly different. Already, too many patients can’t access the abortion and contraceptive care they need because of how much money they have, where they live, or where and how they get their insurance. Now, the new Trump-Pence administration wants to push care completely out of reach. The Women’s March gives us hope for the future of Roe v. Wade and the future of a country that protects the rights, safety, health, and families of all women and their providers.”
