I have two children and a wonderful husband. During my second pregnancy, I had gestational diabetes. Diet and exercise couldn’t control it. I almost lost my pregnancy. My doctor said that any future pregnancies would likely result in serious damage to my body – not death, but the damage could keep me from being a good mom. So, I asked for an IUD (my first child was conceived while I was on the pill, so I wanted to be sure). I didn’t realize the person in her office didn’t “believe” in IUDs, so dragged his feet in ordering my device. In that time, I got pregnant.
My decision to quickly end my pregnancy was to protect my health and to allow me to be a mother for my children.
My decision to quickly end my pregnancy was to protect my health and to allow me to be a mother for my children. I am so grateful to the doctors and nurses who helped me maintain my health, especially because I know the nonsense they have to work around in Texas.
