I am a lucky person when it comes to health care, including reproductive health. I have never wanted children and have taken action throughout my life to prevent pregnancy. This included birth control and tubal ligation.
I am lucky that these were affordable to me because of health care through jobs. I am lucky that when I no longer wanted to take hormones, I could have surgery to permanently avoid pregnancy.
I write because my experience should be EVERY WOMAN’S EXPERIENCE. I write because other women like me may not realize that millions of women do not have these choices. If I had gotten pregnant, I believe I would have sought an abortion. I am lucky because I had the tools to avoid pregnancy. I am lucky because those tools did not fail.
