I was able to get a Paragard (a hormone free IUD) free of charge from Planned Parenthood in New York, preventing me from having children for 10 years (or less, if I want). I have depression that is made worse by hormonal birth control, so it was SUPER important for me to have an option that was non-hormonal. Having a place to go that appreciated my need for birth control that didn’t impact my mental health was BEYOND helpful.
