I had a patient a while ago who was stationed overseas, and when she needed an abortion, she came to Colorado because it was impossible for her to obtain services on the military base due to federal restrictions on abortion care.

She decided that she might as well take leave and travel home and get her abortion here, where she could be with the support of her family. Her other “choice” was to travel a shorter distance but be alone throughout the process (a two-day procedure).
