Story No. 510: Eris from Washington

I needed an STI test, because I worked in a risky job situation for one month where I was potentially poked with freshly bloody sharps. I got the test at a local Planned Parenthood, and thankfully my test results for HIV and hepatitis A/B/C came back clean.

People need to be more compassionate about STI prevention and testing. You can get an STI from just working in a medical environment (not that there’s anything wrong with having sex or hooking up).  STIs come with stigma and negative assumptions. But people need to be safe and open-minded.
