Most of the patients I’ve seen who have been to fake women’s health centers were patients I’ve seen at an abortion clinic. These women were clear about their decision to have an abortion, but because of the deceitful nature of fake women’s health centers, their abortion was delayed. While some people might say that gave these patients more time to think about their decision, what it actually did was make them attend an additional appointment, take an additional half day off of work, and arrange for an additional half day of childcare. My patients know what is best for them and their families. For some, that’s continuing a pregnancy and parenting or placing for adoption. For others, that’s having an abortion. Why can’t we trust women when they tell us what they want? Real health care providers give their patients all their options. My patients deserve real health care, not fake women’s health centers.
