Story No. 76: Physician from New York

After years of training and working as a family doctor, I’ve seen women in every stage of life struggle with their identity and sense of power because they felt compelled make decisions based on what they were told, rather than their own thoughts and opinions.

I can’t think of much better for our society than making sure our future mothers and women make their life decisions for themselves knowing their options.

Since helping a 14-year-old now-mother who felt like she never had a choice anywhere along the way deliver her baby in tears, I’ve always made a point to start the conversations about choice, from having sex, to birth control, to abortion options. These discussions are a first step in empowerment, and I can’t think of much better for our society than making sure our future mothers and women make their life decisions for themselves knowing their options.
