Meet Our Advocates: Dr. Abby Schultz (she/her)

Where do you call home?
Durham, North Carolina.

What are your clinical or research interests?
I am researching high-risk obstetrics physicians’ experience following the Dobbs decision. I hope to use this data to better inform the public and community stakeholders on the impacts of abortion restrictions on doctors and the populations they serve.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
Reproductive healthcare access, including abortion access, affordable contraception, and healthcare for all – including fertility care, primary, and subspecialty care for all people.

What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?
CRAN: Carolina Reproductive Action Network. They provide rides, childcare, and housing to people seeking abortion services in North Carolina.

What is bringing you joy these days?
Sunshine and my dog running around our yard.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates.
