Where do you call home?
Oakland, CA, via New York City.
What are your clinical or research interests?
Asian American and Pacific Islander experiences of abortion, the intersection of abortion care and gender-affirming care, and self-managed abortion.
What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
Now more than ever, it is clear that the efforts to surveil and criminalize abortion are deeply intertwined with a larger network of systems designed to restrict body autonomy in this country. The bans on abortion and increasing attacks on the rights and health of transgender youth are inextricably linked. I’m compelled to collective action to dismantle the systems that police, harm, and criminalize people in this country and to create systems of care that center autonomy, dignity, and safety for all.
What is bringing you joy these days?
The community that surrounds me! Reading all the non-fiction and fiction writers of this time that are helping us envision the future we all deserve. Cooking meals with family. Spending time with large bodies of water.
