Meet Our Advocates: Dr. Jayme Trevino (she/her)

Where do you call home?
I am currently in St. Louis, MO, but San Antonio, TX will always be home!

What are your clinical or research interests?
I am interested in evaluating the ongoing impact of legislation on reproductive health disparities. I also have interests in reproductive autonomy, justice-informed contraceptive counseling, and pain control during GYN procedures.

What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
I currently practice in Missouri, which has some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country. It is a privilege to use my voice as a physician to advocate for my patients and to uplift my patients’ stories to highlight how abortion restrictions after the Dobbs decision have negatively impacted people’s lives.

What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?
Midwest Access Coalition is an amazing organization that assists with travel, lodging, food, and childcare support during the abortion process.

What is bringing you joy these days?
My golden retriever, Millie, as well as spending time with my friends and family. I love traveling, hiking, listening to live music, finding deals on Facebook Marketplace, and growing my balcony garden.
