Meet Our Advocates: Maura Jones Pullins (she/her)

Where do you call home?

Monroe, LA

What are your clinical or research interests?

My current research interests are aspirin for pre-eclampsia prevention, management of hypertension in patients with cardiac disease, and doula support for Black birthing people.

My current clinical interests are improving provider delivery and patient understanding of complex pregnancy conditions/diagnoses, values-based periviability/pregnancy options counseling, improving access to preconception care.

What do you wish other providers knew about reproductive health, rights, and justice?

I wish other providers knew that RJ is not limited to OBGYN but is applicable in all fields of medicine.

What local justice-centered organization do you want to uplift?

Momma’s Village, a local Black doula organization providing much needed care, support, and education to some of our most vulnerable patients.

What is bringing you joy?

My newest and current phase: motherhood. Watching my daughter grow and discover the world around her.
