Where do you call home?
I have moved all over the US but grew up in LA (my parents still live in the same house I grew up in!), so I think that’ll always feel like home!
What are your clinical or research interests?
My primary clinical interests are always related to abortion care and access. I think that the world would be such a better place if abortion access were easy and safe! I have recently been more interested in vulvar conditions and hope to explore this more in my career moving forward.
What current policy issue motivates you to be an advocate?
As a recent Florida transplant, I’m living in a state in the midst of marked political upheaval — the state Supreme Court is going to rule on a 6-week ban any minute. That said, we have remarkable organizations working to put abortion on the ballot next year; I want to be a stronger advocate for issues like this in my new state.
What local justice-centered organization do you wish we knew about?
Floridians Protecting Freedom! It’s an incredible coalition of different organizations that have come together to work on Florida’s ballot initiative (collecting signatures and ultimately codifying abortion access in the state of Florida).
What is bringing you joy these days?
My cat. Always my cat! His name is Roo, and he’s solid black with bright green eyes. He’s brought me joy from the moment I adopted him.
