Meet Our Advocates: Priyal Fadadu (she/her)

Where do you call home?

I am currently living in Seattle but California will always be home to me.

What are your clinical or research interests?

Reproductive healthcare access, improving pain control for abortion care and other gynecologic office procedures, teaching trauma-informed care, medical education.

What do you wish other providers knew about reproductive health, rights, and justice?

Truly listen to your patients and do not be afraid to ask the “difficult” questions to understand how you can best support their reproductive health goals. Understanding the diverse experiences of patients, including race, culture, socioeconomic status, and gender identity, is crucial to provide equitable care. Moreover, speak up about reproductive health injustices when you see them — at clinical visits, department meetings, conferences, etc. Just as reproductive health is informed by society, society is affected by the quality of reproductive healthcare. We are all learning to be better advocates and to do more so do not be afraid to ask for guidance!

What local justice-centered organization do you want to uplift?

Surge Reproductive Justice and Northwest Abortion Access Fund.

What is bringing you joy?

My family and friends first and foremost! Additionally, my many houseplants, strength training, finding new recipes to try, a cozy fall season, and exploring my new city.

Our Meet Our Advocates series showcases the talents and passion of one of our doctors and finds out, in their own words, what inspires them to be physician advocates. Priyal Fadadu (MD, MS) is a Fellow in our Leadership Training Academy Class of 2025 and specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
