Where do you call home?
In some ways New York will always be home, but I am now happy to be a PNW transplant! I live in the Ballard neighborhood in Seattle but work for Lummi Nation which is north of Bellingham.
What are your clinical or research interests?
I am passionate about delivering full-spectrum family medicine in primary care, so I purposefully try not to focus too much on one thing. But my biggest clinical interests right now are addiction medicine (everyone should be prescribing buprenorphine!), reproductive healthcare including abortion, and clinical informatics (I’m an Epic Physician Builder).
What do you wish other providers knew about reproductive health, rights, and justice?
That due to restrictions on the use of federal funds, most Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian (I/T/U) clinics and hospitals do not provide or pay for abortion services. This leads to increased disparities in access to care for AI/AN people.
What local justice-centered organization do you want to uplift?
What is bringing you joy?
Beautifully crisp fall weather in the PNW and my 21-month-old toddler.
